"Signs" of Growth in Seminole

Media 1 Signs and Graphix has relocated to American Industrial Park in Longwood, doubling their space to 12,000 square feet. The company currently employs 15; they anticipate adding 35 new jobs during the next two years and estimate new capital investment of $537,000.

Media 1 specializes in the design, production and installation of commercial signs—ranging from vehicle ad “wraps” to electrical pylon structures and everything in between.

The EDC assisted the company during their expansion with site selection, zoning and permitting issues, and applications for utility sales tax exemptions.

EDC Welcomes Commercial Brokers

Attending the EDC reception were (pictured from left to right): Brendon Dedekind, Tom Hankins, Ted Bywater, and John Krug.

Many of Orlando’s top commercial real estate brokers gathered at the EDC last week. The reception provided an opportunity to meet with their peers and EDC senior staff, as well as to gain a perspective on the comprehensive services available through this organization to the commercial real estate community. Topics addressed included client confidentiality, incentives, workforce programs, foreign direct investments, and community briefings, among many others.

Tom Hankins, CCIM, SIOR, who represents the Orlando Regional Realtor® Association on the EDC’s Board, spoke to the group. He applauded efforts to diversify the economy and urged attendees to take full advantage of the unique partnerships and benefits available through the EDC, stating: “The EDC’s knowledge about a broad spectrum of community assets will add value to your client relationships, many of which will probably help you close deals.”
