Joining the EDC in 2001 as Vice President of International Business Development, Carmenza Gonzalez manages and directs the EDC's International Trade and Export Promotion through coordination of inbound and outbound missions and the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) activities in the Metro Orlando region. FDI activities include implementation of marketing efforts that result in overseas companies expanding into the Orlando region.

A native of Bogotá, Colombia, she has over 20 years of experience in international business. Prior to joining the EDC, Ms. Gonzalez was director of international services for Florida Hospital, an international sales manager for Mattel Toys, and a government relations officer for the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee for the 1984 Olympic Games.

She is a founding member of the Orlando Area Committee of Foreign Relations; a member of the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Orlando British Chamber of Commerce, and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando; and a former member of the National Society of Hispanics MBA and the Florida American College of Healthcare Executives (FCHE). She is also a current Administrative Board Member with SunTrust Bank College Park branch.
