- Orlando is one of two communities in the world currently
building a “medical city” – cluster of life
science companies including a new University of Central Florida
College of Medicine, Burnham Institute for Medical Research,
Nemours Childrens Hospital, Veterans Affairs Hospital, University
of Florida research center and Orlando Health's Cancer Research
Institute of M. D. Anderson. By year 10, the cluster could create
30,000 jobs with $7.6 billion in economic impact.
- Metro Orlando has a rapidly growing $13.4 billion technology
industry employing 53,000 people.
