The purpose of the Lake County Economic Development Advisory
Council is to build and lead collaborative partnerships essential
to implementation of the 2008 Lake County Economic Growth and
Redevelopment Plan, entitled “Building Bridges for Economic
Development in Lake County, Florida”.
The Advisory Council is a program managed by the Metro Orlando
Economic Development Commission (EDC) and reports to the EDC’s
Board of Directors. On behalf of this Council and the Lake County
business community, the EDC provides recommendations to the Lake
County Board of County Commissioners and works with designated
staff to support implementation of the Plan. The Advisory Council
consists of 14 individuals, is chaired by a member of the EDC Board
of Directors, and includes representatives from Lake County’s
League of Cities, Chamber Alliance, education systems, and targeted
industry sectors.
