While Industry Outreach Program participants
provide a great service to the EDC, they benefit as well.
This program provides access and opportunities to develop new
business contacts. As a community ambassador, volunteers meet
one-on-one with businesses throughout the region.
Interested in joining the ranks? It’s easy to do. Simply contact
the EDC’s
Investor Relations Team to apply. Volunteers are required to
attend a brief but comprehensive training session, where you will
learn more about the EDC, economic development in Central Florida,
and the survey tools used to collect company feedback. Then, we
will help you identify target companies, set appointments, and
follow up as needed.
The continuing, high level commitment of volunteers to this
program speaks volumes about the value of this effort to all
involved. But don’t take our word for it, here is what several of
the volunteers had to say:
“Thank you for listening to all the input over the past two
years and developing an Industry Outreach Program that should be an
all-around success. Program improvements will allow us to reach
many more companies this year, and the entire experience will be
positive for the volunteers, the companies we interview, and the
EDC.”
- Liz Hall, Director Sales and Marketing
Staybridge Suites – Orlando
“I am so excited about being a part of this organization
again this year! I reflected on the past year and what a wonderful
journey it has been for me. I am honored to be a part of this team
and proud that someone at the EDC felt that we could make a
positive difference in the people around us, as well as the
community. The EDC is allowing us to look like the heroes in this
process.”
- Elise Thornley, Development Coordinator
Grosse Pointe Development Company
“The Investor Relations staff has improved the process and
tools for investor recruitment, retention and feedback
significantly. This is going to be big! I love to be with people
who are excited about what they do. Their excitement and energy are
contagious!”
- Walt Johnson, Chairman and CEO
