The EDC is dedicated to meeting the needs of today’s industries and creating a competitive economic climate where businesses can thrive. To do this, we market the Orlando region worldwide as a top location for business in order to attract new business investment.

But that’s only half the story. While new business attraction captures headlines, the reality is that 60 to 70 percent of all new job growth annually is generated by companies already based here. Thus, the EDC also works closely with existing local companies to assist them with expansion plans and other business concerns.

While many companies locate in Metro Orlando because of specific market dynamics, others have the opportunity to select from locations anywhere in the world. Those who select our region do so for a variety of reasons, ranging from tangible business factors to personal choices related to quality of life. Whatever the reason, we work to ensure that they remain well satisfied with the community in which they operate.
