Building community... a priority of the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission. In addition to leading the community's business development program, this organization sponsors a series of popular annual events, which bring together supporters of economic development from throughout the region.

EDC networking events include the Annual Barbeque, the James B. Greene Annual Award Dinner, and the William C. Schwartz Industry Innovation Awards. In an effort to benchmark best practices, a group of the EDC's highest-level investors travel to communities throughout the world during our Annual Leadership Mission. Our Holiday Open House is another popular event on the yearly calendar.

Events designed to impart economic trend and other data include the EDC’s Economic Outlook, Florida International Summit, Fast & Furious Conference. A bi-monthly investor orientation is held in the offices of the EDC and quarterly update receptions are held in each county of the region. In addition, EDC advisory boards meet throughout the year to provide input into the development and implementation of our strategic marketing plan.
