In direct response to the needs of local companies, the region's
technical schools offer a variety of courses for the local
workforce and industry-oriented curricula that are mainstays of our
higher education system.
Lake Technical Center (Lake
Tech)
Lake Tech, a public post secondary technical charter school, meets
the educational needs of the community by offering a variety of
high quality vocational and technical training opportunities. Lake
Tech’s main campus is in Eustis, FL, and the Institute of
Public Safety is in Tavares, FL. Lake Tech offers 29 certificate
Workforce Education programs plus two apprentice programs in
Commercial Foods and Culinary Arts and Early Childhood
Education.
Orange Technical Education Center
(O-TEC) Four O-TEC centers offer evaluation, assessment
and technical education programs for students pursuing careers in
more than 100 job areas. A unique O-TEC program allows private
industry to cooperatively design programs to meet the needs of
employers and their employees.
Technical Education Center of Osceola
(TECO) TECO offers training programs in business
technology, industrial education, electronics, electrical wiring,
building systems and maintenance technologies, among a variety of
post-secondary, training alternatives.
