As Vice President of Business
Development, Declan directs a diverse team of five professionals,
who administer a "business visitation" program for the purpose of
business retention and expansion, and manages a pipeline of active
confidential recruitment projects.
Declan’s team works across the following target industry
sectors: aerospace and defense, business services, corporate and
regional headquarters, energy, digital media, information
technology, life sciences and advanced manufacturing.
His career spans 25 years in destination marketing and economic
development. Prior to joining the Metro Orlando EDC, Declan was
business development chief for the Jacksonville Economic
Development Commission and earlier, senior director of economic
development for the Cornerstone Regional Development Partnership of
the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce.
On the west coast, Declan helped develop the creative services
target industry sector, while serving as central city development
officer for the Portland (Oregon) Development Commission.
He is an active member of the Industrial Asset Management
Council (IAMC), National Association of Industrial and Office
Properties (NAIOP), the Florida Economic Development Council (FEDC)
and CoreNet Global, for which he serves on the Metro Orlando
Chapter board of directors. He also serves on the board of
directors of the Florida Business Development Fund.
